What I have learned there is no wrong approach since the rules of engagement with Google are not clearly defined. This is what makes being an article writer so challenging. The one thing that is a certainty on the internet is the Content is King. The more unique and original it is, the better it is received by all that view it, including Google.
One fact that must be clarified is that just because an article is unique does not make it informative or original. There are many article spinning software programs that make the claim of 45% unique content. While it may be unique, it is not original or providing any new information to the surfing public. The public is not stupid. When they read an article and find the information the same as other sites, just reworded, they move on and do not return.
If the business plan that involves your site is for a long term presence on the web with a good reputation, then original unique articles are what you need. That will require an article writer.
